In 2004 Lloyd bought a five acre mixed deciduous plot of woodland in Shropshire where he was able to indulge his interests in such areas as coppicing, charcoal burning and smoking wild foods. Soon Lloyd found himself buying some food smoking equipment, and start experimenting with differing food types from home.

Through his love of healthy living and nature Lloyd met Linda. Soon they were an item, growing as much of their own food as possible, keep chickens for meat and eggs, shoot game and gather wild foods (see recipe for nettle soup!).

Lloyd's main focus now is the production of smoked soft and hard cheeses, although we also provide smoked seeds, nuts, extra virgin olive oil and hope soon to start smoking meats and other produce. Whilst Linda focuses on sourcing meat and veg  locally and ensuring it is ethically produced.

Lloyd and Linda can be found baking their own bread, cooking each meal using only fresh ingredients and turning their backs on all things convenience. As Lloyd and Linda continue liberating and nurtures their souls they hunt down the perfect location for their next big adventure, a goat farm.
